Jerry Nelson is a recovering dairy farmer and freelance writer from Volga, South Dakota. He and his wife Julie have been married 22 years and have two (mostly) grown sons. The Nelsons currently reside on the farm where Jerry's great-grandfather homesteaded over 110 years ago.

In 1996, Jerry began authoring a weekly farm humor column he calls "Dear County Agent Guy." Jerry has since syndicated his column to various newspapers in the Upper Midwest and has also written numerous articles for the nation's premier farm magazines, including Successful Farming. Jerry once even managed to sell a script to Garrison Keillor which was subsequently aired on "A Prairie Home Companion." Jerry can no longer remember exactly how he managed to pull this off, but does seem to recall that the check he received for this effort was used to buy LP gas for his house.

Jerry is available for public speaking. If you need a light and humorous after-dinner speaker or would like Jerry to share the harrowing details of his brush with death in a manure pit accident, contact Jerry at jjpcnels@itctel.com.
