Linda Hotovy Welsch - Linda Hotovy was born in rural Nebraska in 1954. Early influences were deeply rooted in a Catholic, working class section of Lincoln, Nebraska. No art classes were available but in religious training the illustrations of Biblical punishment and redemption held a particular fascination for the young student. She found comfort and solitude in sketching. Hotovy-Welsch started painting in the early 1990's when she studied painting and drawing at the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Today she lives and works with her husband Roger on their farm in central Nebraska.

Above is an oil sketch of my studio. It's a little house we moved in from town. It's cold in the Winter, hot in the Summer and has no phone, no TV, no computer and only limited visitors. My studio is now officially "closed" to the public. The only way you reach the inner sanctum is to be a model! I work here everyday. I come to draw and paint and think and enjoy the company of the art spirit.

Rog works at his computer in his office daily. You can always write to me in care of him. I love to hear the screen door slam and see Rog with a bunch of printed computer messages for me. It is terribly gratifying to receive such nice comments about my cyberspace gallery, especially, from across the country.

A special Thank You to the folks at Successful Farming for hosting my cyber-gallery. They will help me keep you current on upcoming exhibits and new work. They've been a blessing in our lives.
