Roger Welsch lives on a small Nebraska tree farm in Dannebrog, Nebraska, with artist-wife Linda and their youngest daughter Antonia. Son Chris is a travel writer with the Minneapolis Star-Tribune and daughter Joyce is an attorney in Seattle. A third daughter, Jenny, and three grand-children live in Lincoln. Back on the farm, a menagerie of animals include cats Cindy Clawford and Hairball. The Welsch pack of dogs is led somewhat by "Thud" (the name he earned with his head) and supremely by an alpha-female who prefers to remain anonymous.
