Upon arrival in Brasilia I knew I was in a very different region. Roads from Brasilia to Luis Eduardo were well maintained and areas along the road were much more developed than in Mato Grosso. Weather conditions in western Bahia have been favorable for production, although there are reports that drought conditions in central Bahia have resulted in a potential yield decline of 30%.
