Rio de la Plata, Uruguay
Agriculture Online correspondent Laura Karlen scouted for soybean rust in Uruguay, then took samples to the lab for further investigation.

Rio de la Plata, seen here from Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay, is 200 kilometers wide at its widest point between Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Montevideo, Uruguay. Storms from the southeast have hit the past week, causing flooding in Buenos Aires due to a rise in the river. That has also caused soybean rust spores to spread throughout Uruguay.
