This salt tube saves backs and also allows the salt to be delivered even if no one is home. I fastened an 8×5-inch adapter for heating pipe to some 4-inch plastic pipe. The pipe has elbows and runs from an area above the salt tank right down to the water softener. An 8-inch cap on the adapter keeps foreign items out of the salt tank.
