Spotty planting action 

The Crop Tech Tour invaded the eastern Corn Belt in mid-May in search of 2009 corn planting. As expected, northwest Indiana fields proved to be wet from multiple rain events. However, with soil that is considered black sand, and thinner than "down-state," we did catch some farmers "blowing-and-going."
