Just two years ago, declining yields threatened to pummel soybeans to second-rate status.

That's why Successful Farming magazine teamed up with the AgriEdge Soybean Program from Syngenta to put some sizzle back in soybeans via the High Yield Team. The program provides members with knowledge, information, inspiration and motivation to identify critical soybean-production issues.

The program has accompanied an uptick in soybean production, including 2006's record U.S. production of 3.19 billion bushels.

Excellent weather in many areas keyed bin-busting yields. However, a number of production tactics also worked with the weather to boost yields. Five High Yield Team members sum up some of what they learned during 2006.
