A recent audit of United Soybean Board (USB) and soybean checkoff funding mechanisms and programs showed solid financial records and thorough reporting of the body's financial positions.
"The results of this study should reaffirm for every soybean farmer the importance of their checkoff investments," says USB chairman and Lyons, Nebraska, farmer Chuck Myers. "Every checkoff dollar being invested is done with the most forward thinking in mind and it's obvious that our board continues to be effective and efficient in the way we do business."
The majority of soybean farmers are supportive of the national checkoff, Myers says. Many of those farmers are also American Soybean Association (ASA) members as well, making that a good sign.
"It certainly affirms what we do on the checkoff and the projects we invest in for soybean farmers," Myers added this week at Commodity Classic in Grapevine, Texas. "They are receiving a great investment on their checkoff."
USB chairman Chuck Myers of Lyons, Nebraska, talks about the recent audit that confirmed the good financial standing of the soybean checkoff and how the majority of soybean farmers remain supportive of USB, the body charged with administering programs funded by the checkoff (video by John Walter).
