Sponsored: +51.4 Bushel Per Acre Advantage of 30 Pound UAN Fertigated at VT

In this first year study, Beck's Practical Farm Research (PFR)® team set out to evaluate the effectiveness of pivot irrigation and the profitability of fertigating through the pivot system.

In 2015, irrigation increased yield by 22.4 Bu./A. compared to no irrigation, but the real story lies in the addition of nitrogen (N) through fertigation at the VT growth stage.

This study compliments the N timing study at the Indiana Practical Farm Research site that demonstrated profitable late season N applications that missed many of the heavy rainfall events experienced in the 2015 growing season.

It should be noted that this plot was planted in a really tough soil environment. The plot lacked significant top soil, had limited top-end yield potential, and typically has a favorable response to water.

Beck's Hybrids PFR program conducts more than 100 different studies across multiple locations (700+ acres) to learn how different management practices and new technologies perform in field environments. Simply put, it is research focused with the farmer in mind.
