New weed control traits on the way

Gil Gullickson 06/26/2012 @ 3:34pm Crops Technology Editor for Successful Farming magazine/Agriculture.com

There will be some new weed control traits on the way for 2013 and beyond. Dow AgroSciences will unveil its Enlist Weed Control System in corn in 2013, followed by soybeans in 2015. BASF and Monsanto plan to unveil their dicamba-tolerant soybeans around mid-decade, while Syngenta and Bayer are working on HPPD-tolerant soybeans later this decade. All three technologies have promise in giving farmers more options to control herbicide-resistant weeds.

Weed Control 09/05/2012 @ 9:55am Having good weed control is important, but it's also important to remember that herbicide resistant weeds have become so because they've adapted to the herbicides we use. We walk a fine line between killing off weeds and creating super weeds that won't die, ever.
