How Can I Tell What Class of Fungicide I Am Buying?

Rotating between fungicide classes or using a premix of
multiple fungicide classes is recommended by industry and university plant
pathologists as a good way to forestall fungicide resistance.

Both strobilurin and triazole fungicides do a good job of
controlling fungal disease. Strobilurin fungicides come with an extra bonus. Strobilurin
fungicides have provided physiological plant benefits, such as increased
greening and improved corn stalk strength.

Ever wonder how to tell which is which? Look where the top
of the label for the active ingredient listing. If the fungicide is a triazole,
the active ingredient will end with a

“zole”. If it’s a strobilurin fungicide, the active ingredient
ends with a “strobin”.
