Applications are now being accepted for the National FFA Association's 2006 New Century Farmer Program. Now in its 10th year, New Century Farmer offers an opportunity for future farmers to learn about the latest in agricultural technology and opportunities within farming.

The program is sponsored by Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc., and Rabobank as a special project of the National FFA Foundation.

The program will be held on the Pioneer Johnston, Iowa, campus July 17-21, 2006, and includes extensive seminars on the latest in agricultural production.

Candidates must be 19-22 years old (must be 19 by March 2006), be a student in post-secondary school or college and have an agricultural/farming background. Candidates should be preparing themselves for a career in agricultural production/farming and demonstrate that desire via a written application. The program will be all-expense-paid.

Applications can be obtained at http://www.ffa.org/programs/ncfarmer/index.html and they should be returned to the National FFA Organization.
