Operation FarmSafe offering safety improvement grants

Operation FarmSafe Updated: 06/01/2012 @ 4:08pm Launching a preemptive strike against farm safety threats.

Thank you for your interest in the Operating FarmSafe Contest. We are sorry, but the contest is now closed. Winners will be notified in early June.

The Operation FamSafe contest will give 4 individuals $2,500 to use toward safety improvements on his or her farm. To enter, please send your entry by e-mail to OperationFarmSafe@agriculture.com, or by mail to, 1716 Locust St. LS-255 Des Moines, IA 50309.

Here are the items to include in your written or typed entry:

  1. Information about your farm operation such as, size, family and/or non-family members running the operation, type and location.  Also include a way to directly contact you.
  2. Why would your farm operation benefit from $2,500 for safety improvements? This could be a story, mistake, or even knowledge of risks without being able to put a finger on an exact hazard.

You may include photos if you feel it necessary, but it will not affect your chances of winning.

Not required, but an additional option, is to request a Certified Safe Farm review.  This is a voluntary health, wellness and safety program to identify and recommend ways to remove hazards. If interested, please express this in your entry.
