Agriculture.com Staff 07/29/2013 @ 5:21pm

DES MOINES, IOWA – July 29, 2013 Operation FarmSafe grants have been awarded to four families by Successful Farming® magazine.  Each recipient will receive a free Certified Farm Safe review of the farm operation and a $2,500 grant to make necessary safety improvements.

Successful Farming congratulates Dan and Tiffany Warner, Walnut Grove, Minnesota; Carrie and Don McCloud, Rose Hill, Iowa; Jeff and Connie Brockman, Arpin, Wisconsin; and Mark and Susan Miller of Madison, Nebraska.

“The response to Operation FarmSafe shows that farmers are very aware of the safety hazards on their farms, and understand the need to be proactive,” says Cheryl Tevis, senior editor, Successful Farming magazine. “We received applications from 22 states, and it was very difficult to select four.”

Recipients were chosen based on the need for safety improvements on their farm and the potential benefits of receiving the $2,500 grant. Nationwide Agribusiness Insurance provided funding for the four grants and optional Certified Farm Safe review.

The Operation FarmSafe recipients will be featured in the November and December issues of Successful Farming magazine.
