Even though we know breakfast is the most important meal of the day, many of us still choose to skip it.
Recent research conducted in Venezuela and the U.S. reaffirms this. The study, which included 94 obese women, shows that a 610-calorie breakfast with plenty of carbohydrates and protein, a smaller lunch, and an even smaller dinner result in significant weight loss over several months, when compared to a lower-carbohydrate diet.
While many of us won't be eating a 600-calorie breakfast each day, what is important to remember is that eating a good breakfast is the best way to start off your day.
It's no secret that people who eat breakfast often weigh less than people who skip it. If you miss breakfast, you're actually making yourself extra hungry and are likely to eat more calories throughout the day. Breakfast can help control hunger and give you the nutrients and energy needed to start your day.
Breakfast jump-starts your metabolism. If you don't rev up your metabolism early in the day, you won't be burning all the calories you could be.
