To help farm women focus on building financial security and learn new strategies for coping, Iowa Women in Agriculture is offering a one-day conference on July 30, 2009. The theme, Keeping up with the Changing Times, underscores the need for producers to continually improve risk management skills.
The conference will be held at the Monsanto Bio Future Facility near Huxley, Iowa.
Topics include: marketing, women and money, agronomy, a computer lab on soil technology, flexible and cash rent leases, and tours of Monsanto test plots.
A panel discussion will highlight financial credit trends, the farm bill, and new environmental regulations.
The luncheon keynote speaker is Carol Roth, a former farm woman who operates Starfish Consulting as well as a bed-and-breakfast near Soldiers Grove. Her topic is Embracing Change: Developing Skills to Adapt.
