December 6-12, 2004Warmer temps bring mud

Agriculture.com Staff 07/07/2010 @ 9:09am

It warmed up this week so it is very muddy. I hope the snow comes back soon. I am not a big rain or mud fan. I would rather have it colder and snowing.

Shawn drove to Pasco all week. No trips to the feed mill. With it warming up, the roads were better for him to travel on. He was home early enough to get chores done before dark all week. He even had time to make dinner most nights. I sure do miss it when he doesn't.

Things at the store are busy. Everyone is getting ready for the holidays and winter and needing feed and presents. I placed an ad with a Happy Holidays wish from the store on the radio. I am a Wallowa Basketball Sponsor and try to change my ad about every couple of weeks. I also posted signs saying that I am closing early on December 24 and 31, and will be closed on the December 25 and January 1. With two-day weekends, I don't know what to do. Probably housework!

We have been invited to Pendleton to Dad's, LaGrande to one of my aunt's and to a few houses here locally for Christmas dinner but still haven't decided what to do. Maybe we will just stay home and enjoy each other's company. This will be our first Christmas without my family so it will be unusually quiet. We are going to the Lostine Granges Christmas Party next week. Shawn is going to be Santa! We ended this week with a group of friends getting a Christmas tree then taking it back and decorating it and having dinner! It is supposed to get cold again so hopefully the snow comes back and mud dries up!
