John Deere has been announced as an inductee to the 2012 Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) Hall of Fame for his vision and hard work that has been critical to advancing global economic and social prosperity. This is according to the AEM Hall of Fame inductees’ announcement on the AEM website.

John Deere has been inducted to the Hall of Fame for his founding of the Deere Company, which has been a significant player in equipment manufacturing for nearly 200 years, according to the release. The Hall of Fame inductees were evaluated on a set of five criteria:

  1. Innovation
  2. Industry contributions
  3. Leadership
  4. Corporate citizenship/social responsibility
  5. Sustainability

From the AEM release, “Deere built a global company on the core values of integrity, quality, commitment, and innovation— one that produces machinery with a myriad of applications in agriculture, construction, forestry, and turf care. John Deere made an everlasting mark and earned his place in the AEM Hall of Fame through the development of equipment manufacturing to its status today as a key contributor to our economic well-being and quality of life.”

The John Deere Company continues to lead the way in agricultural equipment manufacturing, in large part due to John Deere. Deere has been recognized for his accomplishments in advancing global economic and social prosperity, according to the AEM.
