Hot new tool for your farm

Agriculture.com Staff 11/04/2011 @ 11:35am

Research conducted by Successful Farming magazine this year shows that farmers are quickly adopting smartphone technology and, in fact, are making greater use of the devices than does the general public. Farmers are conducting a range of work-related chores with the devices including sending/receiving email; checking weather, news, and markets; and text messaging family and employees.

What are some of the specific ways these devices can streamline your farm business work? It starts before you even buy your new phone. When you're making that purchase decision, don't get too technical. Make your comfort level the initial top priority.

If you own a smartphone -- or you are thinking about buying one -- be sure to check out the new version of m.agriculture.com, the mobile website operated by Successful Farming magazine. The site is loaded with features that can help you better manage your farm business. And, according to Indiana farmer Ashlie Kolb (shown above), it's a destination you'll want to visit on a regular basis.
