Intervet launches text-message service for cattle industry

Agriculture.com Staff 02/08/2006 @ 1:03pm

On March 1, Intervet Inc. will launch a new text-messaging service that delivers market information to cattle feeders' cellphones. The service is called Intervet Cattle Business Messaging (ICBM). It will be provided to qualified Intervet customers, compliments of Intervet.

The service sends current month fed-cattle futures market data three times a day - at market open; midday; and close of market, which also will provide the volume traded that day. Professional Cattle Consultants (PCC) will provide content for the service.

Subscribers also will be alerted when cattle cash trade occurs and when major breaking news relevant to the cattle industry happens.

The service is free, but your cellular provider may charge you for receiving the text messages.

You can sign up for the service at www.revalor.com.
