Ultimate UTV Test: Rider reactions
As the Agriculture.com/Successful Farming machinery team wraps up the Ultimate UTV Test, let's take a preliminary look at what the riders had to say about various machines.
Laurie Bedord. “The John Deere XUV 825i, ergonomically, is a great machine. It’s easy to get in and out of. Once in the cab, there’s plenty of room, good visibility, and comfortable seating. It also provides a very quiet ride.”
Mick Frazier. “The three-speed transmission makes driving very smooth and easy on the Honda Pioneer 700-4. Rear seats in the cargo box are a great addition.”
Joe Greving. “The Yamaha Viking has tons of power. I couldn’t even tell there was a load!”
John Lumkes. “The Artic Cat Prowler 700 HDX is one of the most balanced (utility vs. sport) machines. A little soft on the suspension for sport but generally well behaved. Good brakes.”
Ed Meredith. “The Polaris Ranger XP 900 is a great, fun off-road vehicle. It holds back well on steep downhill slope.”
Tom Meredith. “The John Deere RSX 850i has very comfortable seating. The handling is great.”
Dave Mowitz. “I think the Bobcat 3400 has the best downhill engine braking control. Never had to use braking on steep grade!”
Broady Murphy. “The Honda Pioneer 700-4 has great maneuverability. The seatbelt was a bit uncomfortable.”
Jessie Scott. “The engine braking on the Yamaha Viking did well downhill.”
Tim Spiekermeier. “The John Deere RSX 850i handles well even at higher speeds.”
