"One out of every two farmers have adopted some form of precision ag technology. The major adoption portion is in the productivity tools," says Matt Darr, assistant professor, Iowa State University. "Farmers are going to continue to ask themselves how do I get more done in a day and how do I do it more effectively and efficiently so I'm not spending as much money and not overlapping chemicals, or fertilizer, or seed during the course of a year? Productivity will continue to be a major, major point."

Farmers are adopting precision ag technology on a variety of levels. Each of the growers below are perfect examples of that statement. This growing season I'll be riding along to share each of their experiences in precision agriculture. I'll not only highlight the precision ag tools they utilize in their operations, but why they use those tools, and most importantly, why they decided to take the plunge into precision ag.

But first, let's meet our growers.

There are a number of precision ag tools to choose from. For each of the growers in our profile, their precision ag equipment includes names like Ag Leader, John Deere, Precision Planting, Topcon and Trimble.
