Get Social with Ag Leader

When Ag Leader joined the world of social media just over a year ago, our main goal was to increase our engagement with growers, dealers and others in the agriculture industry and make precision ag a greater part of the online conversation. Pushing the message beyond our website – and giving you a chance to share thoughts, questions, suggestions or comments with us in new and different ways – was top priority. In the past year, our social media sites have done just that, and we’re excited to continually enhance our presence and provide you a forum online to engage with us.

Precision Point (agleader.com/blog)

Our Precision Point blog is the focal point of our social media presence. Here, several Ag Leader employees serve as authors and provide information about topics from soil sampling tips to Ag Leader’s community involvement to introductions of our customer support team members. However, we don’t just want to talk; we want our readers to respond.  So we’ve given you the ability to share your comments, questions or observations on our blog posts. These comments provide our authors a way to communicate with you beyond the post by answering questions and seeing other points of view on the topic. In addition, you can immediately share our posts with a simple button click, letting you express what you “like” to your followers on Twitter or Facebook.

Facebook (Facebook.com/AgLeader)

Ag Leader’s Facebook page has become a great place for you to find Ag Leader information, and it also provides an easy way to communicate with us, whether that means asking a question about your equipment, commenting on a post or simply sharing an experience with Ag Leader products. Our Facebook page also serves as an Ag Leader Events calendar, where you’ll find farm shows and other events we’ll be attending or hosting throughout the year, and be reminded when we’ll be in your area. Facebook has proven to be a great way for us to reach out to and communicate with you in the way that is most convenient and comfortable for you, and we will continue to expand what we share and provide via this network.

Twitter (@agleadertech)

Over the past year, we have found that Twitter is not only a great way to share our own content, but also a convenient way to find content important to you. The ability to follow by topic, or follow other people throughout the ag industry, is a great way to keep up with what’s happening all over the country and world in regards to the precision ag industry. We’ve participated in live chats and “tweet ups”, and we plan to become even more active in these conversations as we continue to grow our social media efforts.

YouTube (www.youtube.com/AgLeaderTechnology)

The videos available on our YouTube channel have been greatly expanded over the last year. In addition to customer interviews and product videos, we have found that video tutorials are a great way to offer another method for learning about Ag Leader equipment. With our social media initiatives, we have been striving to meet the different ways our audience learns and communicates, and these video tutorials are another effort to meet this need. In addition, our YouTube channel offers a variety of videos beyond the tutorials to help you learn more about Ag Leader, our products and our services.

Overall, Ag Leader’s first year of social media has been a great success, with over 1,500 followers between Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. In addition, over 145 blog posts have been posted to Precision Point to develop a great base of precision ag information. With our success so far, and our exciting plans for the future of our social media campaigns, we hope to expand our content and engage an even broader audience of the ag industry to do our part in spreading the word of precision agriculture. If you are using our social media, we thank you! And if you haven’t tried it yet, we invite you to join the discussion.
