LuggHandles Wheel Weight Adapter write-up

Mike Grubb 08/11/2013 @ 11:00pm LuggHandles are Universal tractor, mower or garden equipment Wheel Weight Adapters.

"I’ll have to put this one on the thread “favorite mods”. This is a good one, so I thought I’d share my experience with you guys.I found a fella, mgrubb47122, that sells wheel weight adapters that allow the use of common, locally-sourced barbell weight plates to add that critical weight for all of us snow pushers, and others that need added rear tire traction and power. After a little research and an inquiry to him, I found out that he’s my friend that lives like 2-miles from me! True story.Anyhow, I think he’s on to something… I have always wanted wheel weights for my 16″ rears (I have a 4020), but it is next to impossible to find them locally and when I find them online, the shipping costs are prohibitive. I was thinking of doing what Brian and others have done with drilling barbell plates and running long bolts through the rims and was preparing for a purchase when I ran across my friend’s invention.

With the Moderators’ permission, I thought I’d do a quick write-up of the adapters because I love them. They make a huge difference and I have already had the opportunity to use them in a rare 4″ Southern Indiana snowfall last week.

This kit consists of the parts seen below. I believe the part number for our 16″ Ingersolls are “WWA-164″, but we should verify with mgrubb47122 that I’m giving the right part number. He does have multiple sizes for different applications. Here’s what you get in the kit:

Great product - from a doubter's point of view... 12/29/2013 @ 2:19pm I have to admit I was skeptical these would work as promised, but I saw references to them on several garden tractor forums and decided to take the plunge. Nothing to loose - no questions asked return policy including shipping. Two negatives: They stick out past the wheels a little, and they had a poor quality paint job. But the pluses made me a believer: The weight made a BIG difference in traction. Showed up on my door in two days. Out of the box and on the wheels in 20 minutes. Web site has a neat writeup on how to mount so everything comes off and back on as needed in minutes. Love my Lugg Handles. C.T.
