John Deere and Successful Farming magazine’s Agriculture.com have recently launched an online game called “Steer Your Deere” (www.steeryourdeere.com) to showcase the new ActiveCommand Steering (ACS™) system.
“This game is an interactive learning experience about what John Deere’s ACS system can do,” said Scott Mortimer, Publisher of Successful Farming magazine. “When you play the game and collect the ACS wheel, it becomes easier to steer – much like the product itself is supposed to.”
The user can navigate a John Deere 8R Series tractor down a path by using a computer’s keyboard. Collect points along the way while avoiding obstacles in your path.
"Traditional steering systems provide some steering slop," said Chad Hogan, Marketing manager for the 8 family of tractors.. "With electronic ActiveCommand Steering, we completely eliminate slop." The system eliminates drift, as well, "so on the steering wheel, 12:00 is always 12:00."
