Deere 4450 sold for $70,750 at auction
It’s been a few days now.
Since last Saturday, when I stood in the cold rain most of the afternoon in the little farming town of Alpha, MN and filmed for our Machinery Pete Youtube channel a 1988 John Deere 4450 tractor with 2,612 “1 owner” hours selling for $70,750.
Yep, another new record high auction sale price. By a mile.
$20K over the previous record high price I’ve compiled on John Deere 4450’s over the past 23 ½ years in fact. Think about that. $20,000 over the other (522) sale prices on 4450’s listed in our www.machinerypete.com web site. $20K over. Wow. Just further proof of how heated the market has become for really good condition used tractors here in 2013. Choose for yourself which recent auction sale price on tractors you find most jaw dropping:
- 1993 JD 4960 MFWD with 3,045 hours, sold $114,000, 1/24/13 west-central Ohio sale…$27,000 over previous record sale price
- 1981 JD 4440 with 4,552 hours, sold $47,500, 1/19/13 northeast Iowa sale…3rd highest auction price I’ve ever seen on a JD 4440…we have 1,161 sale prices on 4440’s in our web site
- 1988 JD 4450 MFWD with 2,612 hours, sold $70,750 southwest Minnesota sale
Oh, I forgot to mention. Duals ($1,800) and weights ($1,400) sold separate on Saturday’s Alpha, MN auction. The same buyer from Tennessee got the JD 4450, duals and weights, so $73,950 all told. Plus he has to pay to haul back to Tennessee too.
In case you missed it, here’s the Youtube video I shot of the JD 4450 selling last Saturday. Looked like the bidding was over around $57,000…nope, not even close:
