I have two daughters.

Can’t believe how fast they’ve grown up. One is a senior in college now, the other a sophomore. Time rushes by. Seems like just yesterday I was sharing my little office with daughter No. 1’s crib in the corner. Soon she’ll graduate and find a job. I’m thankful for each and every day we’ve shared along the way, for the smiles, the tears, and the hugs.

Two Saturdays ago (November 24, 2012) I covered a farm estate auction in LeRoy, Minnesota. Stanley Bergan was a farmer who passed away too young. Stan was a proud military man as well, serving as a colonel in Afghanistan. Stan’s line of farm equipment was immaculate. Last week I posted a YouTube video showing his JD 336 baler selling for a new record auction price of $4,900.

Stan’s daughter, Rebecca Linkenmeyer, contacted me on our Machinery Pete Facebook page after the auction. “I was wondering if you have any video of the 4010 or 4020s selling? I am Stan’s daughter, and I started them. They meant a lot to me. Thanks again so much for coming.”

So here’s a new video showing Rebecca’s dad Stanley Bergan’s beautiful 1962 JD 4010 diesel tractor with 3,397 hours selling on the November 24, 2012, farm auction, followed by footage of Stanley’s 1965 and 1968 JD 4020s selling:

Rebecca mentioned that she and husband Dallas have two young daughters themselves. Enjoy and be thankful for each and every day guys, for the blessing it truly is. And girls, know that your Grandpa Stan had some of the nicest John Deere tractors Machinery Pete has ever seen.
