Friends restore tractor for charity auction
25 years old, recently engaged, new house, a job he loves at the local John Deere dealership AWH in Somonauk, IL. The future was bright for Tom Belinski of Leland, Illinois.
Then the cancer came back.
A heartbreaking story, but also a beautiful story about how the folks Tom worked with at AHW pulled together to try and help in Tom’s fight against the terminal diagnosis. Employees collectively purchased a rundown 1970 John Deere 2020 tractor and #48 loader from a local farmer. They chipped in their time and expertise to lovingly restore the tractor and loader and will put it up for sale on the annual Leland Lions Club consignment auction March 16, 2013.
All proceeds from the sale of the JD 2020 and loader will go to Tom Belinski to help with the costs of his cancer fight.
Here's a video with more on this tractor and the annual Leland Lions Club auction:
I will be covering this auction next Saturday and will shoot Youtube video of this tractor as it sells. Let’s hope for some real strong bidding on this lovingly restored JD 2020 and loader and a strong sale price to help Tom and family. And let’s all hope and pray for Tom and his loved ones as they walk the road ahead.
