Next Thursday (May 19th) I'll be out in Holdrege, NE covering a farm estate auction featuring a nice line of equipment. I'll have our film crew from the "Machinery Show" on RFD-TV along to shoot the sale. I'm looking forward to watching the father and son auctioneer team of Robin and Miles Marshall work the sale.

So of course I'm very interested in the headline items on this auction, the 2004 CaseIH 2388 combine with 1,726 engine hours and the 2006 CaseIH MX275 MFWD tractor with 1,970 hours, also the Brent 772 grain cart. But I'm also very interested in these items:

  • Rhino 1540 10' hyd. adjustable 3pt. blade
  • Blu Jet Sub Tiller II 5-shank deep chisel with coulters

What are they worth? Obviously not as much as the late model combine, tractor or grain cart, but just as important to me. Why? Because I know that somewhere out there is someone looking to buy, sell, trade or affix a value to the Rhino 1540 blade or a Blu Jet Sub Tiller II deep chisel. They don't want to pay too much, sell for too little or miss the mark on assigning current value. But how to know what they're worth?

Check and see what other folks just paid for similar items, that's how:

On the Rhino 1540 blades, see how the last (14) I've seen sold at auction went for between $2,100 and $4,500. The one sold for $4,500 in east-central Wyoming last December was "unused". Average auction sale price on these last (14) Rhino 1540 blades sold = $2,971.

The 5-shank Blu Jet II? See in my "Pete's auction prices" link above the last (11) I've seen sold at auction went for between $2,500 - $5,600. Average auction price on these last (11) Blu Jet Sub Tiller II's sold = $3,873.

Now you know.

I'll post Youtube video highlights from next Thursday's farm auction in Holdrege, NE on our web site after the sale, so check back to see what the Rhino 1540 blade and the Blu Jet Sub Tiller II 5-shank sold for.
