Oliver tractor auction
This Saturday (Oct. 1, 2011) I will be traveling to Manchester, IA, 40 minutes north of Cedar Rapids in east-central Iowa, to cover a unique farm auction featuring (12) restored Oliver and Cockshutt tractors. These babies shine. Ready for the parade route. This auction is by my friends at Waterhouse Realty & Auctioneers. Here's the sale bill.
Auctioneer Marvin Waterhouse told yesterday there has been particular interest in the 1963 Cockshutt 660 gas tractor. Marvin relayed that to his understanding, only 15 of these models made. Here's a pic:

Always mighty interesting to see how high these rare production models sell when they show up at auction. Marvin said already has received expressed bidding interest from the southern U.S., Canada and a neighboring state. Should be interesting. What's your sale price guess?
Another one of the beautiful tractors for sale on Saturday's sale is a 1963 Oliver 660 gas with wide front. Below see a picture and underneath a link you can click on to view all the auction sale price data I've compiled on Oliver 660's over the years...a pretty rare find also. Looks like $10,000 is the highest sale price I've seen:

I will shoot video at Saturday's auction in Manchester for our Machinery Pete Youtube channel and will post a video recap Saturday evening. Here' a link.
If you're in the neighborhood, stop on out to the auction Saturday. See you there!
