USDA: Corn, soy harvest activity nears completion

The U.S. corn and soybean crops are nearly all out of the fields, according to the USDA weekly Crop Progress report released on Monday.

The USDA reported 90% of the corn is harvested, below 94% a year ago.

For soybeans, 94% of the crop is harvested, below 97% a year ago.

The winter wheat crop is rated 59% good/excellent, 33% fair, and 8% very poor-poor. With 96% of the crop planted, 87% has emerged, below 88% a year ago.

For cotton, 69% of the crop has been harvested, below 72% a year ago.
