CME Group DDG contract to start Monday

Agriculture.com Staff 04/23/2010 @ 11:25am

CHICAGO, Illinois (Agriculture.com)--On Monday, the CME Group will kick-off its distillers' dried grain futures (DDG) contract.

The all-electronically traded contract will offer more than just ethanol plants a chance to hedge. Jerod Kitt, Linn Group's director of research, says the DDG contract will offer a new risk management dimension for the corn by-product users.

While Chicago will be the delivery point for firms east of the Mississippi River, Council Bluffs, Iowa will serve as the delivery point for firms west of the Mississippi.

CME Group electronic trading hours run from 6:00pm-7:15am and again from 9:30am-1:15pm CST, Sunday-Friday.
