Goebel: Marketing corn considering new highs

With the new highs in corn does this mean we should hold off marketing new crop corn? -Looking For The New Plateau.

If there is a big change in demand for corn it will come from the cash market in the form of a tight basis in the cash market. The futures market is moving on momentum from buyers which should be used by producers to sell grain using a hedge strategy. We still have to remember we have a lot of grain still sitting in bunkers. Keep your eyes on the basis level. Basis strength will determine if it is demand or hype.
