Goebel: Planting delays boost corn, pressure beans

Agriculture.com Staff 04/10/2006 @ 1:14pm

This current run-up in corn -- is it a sign of things to come? -Watching storm clouds on the radar.

We are looking at some planting delays giving the corn market a boost and pressuring the soybean market. We have to remember with the equipment and the seeds we have today a few days of planting delays do not make the difference as they have in the past. Once the planters start rolling the market will be looking at all the corn that will need a home later on. This rally should be used for marketing old and new crop corn. Some call options should be used for market optimism not your crop.
