Corn closes higher, Soybeans mixed

DES MOINES, Iowa (Agriculture.com)--On Friday, demand and inclement fieldwork weather helped corn finish higher, while increased rain chances send wheat lower. 

The May corn futures contract settled 1 3/4 cents higher at $5.01. The Dec. corn futures finished 5 cents higher at $5.06. The May soybean futures contract ended 1 1/2 cents lower at $14.73. The Nov. soybean futures closed 5 cents higher at $12.08. May wheat futures settled 6 cents lower at $6.69 per bushel. The May soymeal futures contract finished $1.00 per short ton lower at $479.10. The May soyoil futures closed $0.10 lower at $41.57.

In the outside markets, the NYMEX crude oil is $0.83 per barrel higher, the dollar is higher and the Dow Jones Industrials are 155 points lower.
