Corn, soybean markets drop

DES MOINES, Iowa (Agriculture.com)--Just as they started the trading day, the CME Group corn and wheat markets closed lower Tuesday. Soybean prices ended unchanged.

At the close, the Dec. corn futures contract settled 6 1/4 cents lower at $4.18 1/2. The Jan. soybean futures contract closed unchanged at $13.29. Dec. wheat futures closed 6 cents lower at $6.46 per bushel. The Dec. soymeal futures contract finished $13.00 per short ton higher at $450.20. The Dec. soyoil futures ended $0.31 lower at $40.35.

In the outside markets, the NYMEX Brent crude oil is $0.14 per barrel lower, the dollar is lower and the Dow Jones Industrials are 45 points higher.
