Early calls for corn, wheat, and soybeans

09/07/2010 @ 7:41am

CHICAGO, Illinois (Agriculture.com)--The pre-opening prices for the CME Group grain commodities for Tuesday, September 7, 2010 are lower. The early calls for corn are 5-6 cents lower, soybeans 2-4 lower and wheat down 8-10 cents.

In overnight electronic trading, the Dec. corn futures contract traded 6 cents lower at $4.58 1/2 per bushel. The Nov. soybean futures contract traded 2 1/4 cents lower at $10.32 3/4 per bushel. The Dec. wheat futures contract traded 11 3/4 cents lower at $7.29 1/2. For Dec. soymeal futures, the contract traded $0.10 per short ton lower at $302.30, and Dec. soyoil down 0.08 point at $40.78.

The outside markets are not supportive for Tuesday's grain trade. The real factors driving the lower early calls are the lower overnight markets.
