Does hog cash market signal strong year?

Does this strong run up in the cash market mean a good year is ahead of us- Missed Selling At The High.

This looks like the packers were in a short bought situation and had to fill the plants, but we have to remember kill numbers are high. There is also the seasonal tendency for post-Easter strength in the cash and futures market. The highs in the market have been coming in early May recently, so this could be short-lived. Put options would be the tool of choice at this time to allow the market to rally, but still cover the possible downside in this market.

Does this strong run up in the cash market mean a good year is ahead of us- Missed Selling At The High.
