Soybean demand confirmed

08/14/2012 @ 8:33am

US soybean crushers processed more beans in July than most analysts expected. National Oilseed Processors Association reports today that 137.4M bushels of soybeans were crushed in July, above the average 131M estimate from analysts surveyed by Dow Jones. The higher crush confirmed a strong demand base for soybeans and soymeal. Strong demand and decent processing margins kept crushers active. "High soymeal export shipments maintained a relatively strong actual crush against pressures for the meal crush to have weakened during July," said Bill Nelson, analyst with Doane Advisory Services.
