Ukraine 2017 spring grain sowing 94 pct complete

KIEV, May 19 (Reuters) - Ukrainian farmers have sown 6.8
million hectares with spring grains for the 2017 harvest so far,
or about 94 percent of the expected planting area of 7.2 million
hectares, data from the Agriculture Ministry showed on Friday.

Farmers have sown 4.2 million hectares of maize, or 94
percent of a planned 4.5 million hectare area.

Farmers have sown 1.7 million hectares of soybean of a
planned 1.9 million hectares this year. They have also sown 5.1
million hectares of sunflower of an expected area of 5.4 million
hectares.
