WASHINGTON, Oct 15 (Reuters) - U.S. Republican Senator Susan
Collins, who helped torpedo President Donald Trump's effort to
repeal Obamacare, said on Sunday she was leaning towards a 'yes'
vote on the Senate budget resolution to advance tax reform.
"I am likely a yes on that budget. I very much want to see
tax reform," Collins said on ABC's "This Week" news program.

HANOI, Oct 16 (Reuters) - Vietnam braced for typhoon Khanun
on Monday after destructive floods battered the country's north
and centre last week, killing 72 people, the disaster prevention
Last week's floods were the worst in years, the government
and state-run Vietnam Television said, with thousands of homes
submerged. Another 200 houses collapsed and several towns remain
cut off by the floodwater.
The floods also damaged more than 22,000 hectares (54,300
acres) of rice.
BEIJING, Oct 16 (Reuters) - China's top corn-producing
province is cutting the subsidy for farmers churning out the
grain by 13 percent this year, official media said on Saturday,
as Beijing pushes to whittle down stocks of the commodity and
encourage growers to plant other crops like soy.
Heilongjiang province in the country's northeast will give
corn growers 133.46 yuan ($20.30) per mu (0.067 hectares) of
corn grown this year, said the Xinhua news agency, compared with
153.92 yuan last year.

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 16 (Reuters) - Palm oil demand is expected
to remain robust for the rest of the month as key consumer
countries India and China rebuild low stock levels, bucking a
seasonal trend in which shipments of the tropical oil typically
taper off at year-end.
A narrow discount to a rival edible oil, however, could
limit demand growth moving forward, say traders and analysts,
since buyers usually switch to more favoured soyoil when its
price premium over palm narrows.
