exporter, had harvested 133 million tonnes of grain before
drying and cleaning with an average yield of 2.98 tonnes per
hectare from 95 percent of the total area as of October 19,
Agriculture Ministry data showed on Friday.
That compares to the 116.6 million tonnes harvested with an

BEIJING, Oct 20 (Reuters) - China's commerce ministry said
it will defend Chinese companies' interests amid an EU
investigation into Chinese electric bicycles (e-bikes), and
urged the European Union to respect World Trade Organization
"The Chinese government will closely watch the development

BEIJING, Oct 20 (Reuters) - China's State Development &
Investment Corporation (SDIC) is aiming to produce 4 million to
5 million tonnes of ethanol per year in the next three to five
years, a company official said on Friday, as the Beijing-backed
firm seeks to become China's top producer of the biofuel.
China said last month it plans to roll out the use of
ethanol in gasoline nationally by 2020 to boost industrial
demand for corn and clean up the nation's choking smog.
