Purdue organization to honor Indiana women in agriculture
The Purdue University Women in Agriculture team has announced that it is accepting applications for its annual achievement and leadership awards.
The achievement award recognizes Indiana women who have contributed to production agriculture, agribusiness success or entrepreneurial agriculture activities, and the leadership award recognizes those who have had roles in agriculture leadership, advocacy for the industry or influence on agricultural policy.
"The goal of the awards is to recognize women's contributions to agriculture," said Stacy Clupper, Purdue Extension educator. "Agriculture has been traditionally seen as a male-dominated profession, but women have made important contributions, both on the farm and in agribusiness and agriculture leadership."
Nomination forms are available online and are due June 15. The awards will be presented August 15 at the Indiana State Fair.
