ADM plans ethanol plant in Cedar Rapids, Iowa

Archer Daniels Midland Company (ADM) today announced it has selected Cedar Rapids, Iowa, as the second location for its ethanol capacity expansion. The company will build a dry corn milling plant there with an initial annual capacity of 275 million gallons, adjacent to its existing corn processing plant.

ADM is also planning a new ethanol plant in Columbus, Nebraska. That plant will also have a capacity of 275 million gallons.

The Cedar Rapids plant is expected to be completed in the second half of 2008, pending governmental approvals.
