CHS, Agriculture Future of America expand partnership

An expanded partnership was announced recently between CHS, an energy and grains company, and Agriculture Future of America (AFA), a collegiate organization that provides career development for students planning a career in agriculture.

Under the expanded partnership, CHS and the CHS Foundation are making a $40,000 contribution that will help AFA provide programs for college students. The dollars will also sponsor 20 students to attend the annual AFA Leaders Conference next month in Kansas City. The conference draws more than 400 students each year, and features industry experts and an opportunity fair.

"AFA is committed to assisting college men and women prepare for an exciting career in the 21st century agriculture industry," says Russell Weathers, AFA chief executive officer. "Our partnership with CHS will assist in the identification of students who are interested in careers in agriculture and rural America. "

"We are proud to increase our partnership with AFA," says William J. Nelson, CHS Foundation president. "AFA provides our industry, cooperatives and communities with talented young women and men who are passionate about agriculture and rural America."

Since 1996, AFA has provided leader and career development training to more than 4,000 college students and young professionals in agriculture
