Garst expands corn, soybean lines for 2006

Garst Seed Company has announced it will offer 20 new corn hybrids and eight new soybean varieties for the 2006 planting season, in addition to the 31 new corn hybrids and 18 new soybean varieties earlier introduced for this season.

Nine of the latest corn hybrids feature Agrisure traits; others feature YieldGard1, Roundup Ready1, LibertyLink2 and CLEARFIELD3. The new hybrids feature a range of maturities from 78 to 117 general relative maturity (GRM).

Five of the new soybean varieties include the Roundup Ready trait, with two of those offering soybean cyst nematode (SCN) resistance and one offering SCN and STS4 resistance. There are three new conventional varieties including one with SCN resistance. Garst, an affiliate of Syngenta, is also offering 18 new NK soybean varieties.
