Online grain marketing firms pooling resources

Officials with AgriCharts, a provider of real-time data, Web site and mobile services for agriculture, announced this week an integration initiative with online grain marketing and electronic marketplace for farmers and grain buyers, Farms Technology, LLC.

Through their relationship, grain elevators, co-ops, ethanol plants and other grain buyers which use Farms Technology's online grain trading system, the Dynamic Pricing Platform (DPP), will now be able to integrate into AgriCharts' systems for real-time quotes, Web site management and mobile services.

Electronic cash grain trading and the distribution of cash grain bids through Web sites and mobile devices has grown sharply in recent months. Company officials say AgriCharts' system with Farms Technology, LLC, provides a single point-of-entry for inputting and managing cash bid data. Through a Web-based system, grain buyers can trade cash grain, view real-time cash bids and disseminate cash bids to their Web site, e-mail and mobile devices.

"Through our relationship with Farms Technology, grain buyers that use the DPP for cash grain trading and also need to post cash grain bids to their website, as well as send prices to mobile phones or via e-mail, now have a single solution for managing this process," says Mark Haraburda, Managing Director at Barchart and AgriCharts.

Farms Technology has also integrated AgriCharts' AgPlus Real-Time desktop quote service into DPP. Through DPP, users can access real-time quote boards, as well as charting, news and weather.

"In today's world volatility is extremely high and real-time market information can make you more profitable with just a few trades particularly if you have the tools in place to execute automated transactions given the real-time information," adds Jason Tatge, Farms Technology CEO.
