TriOak Foods sells Triumph shares to Christensen Farms

Agriculture.com Staff 08/24/2007 @ 7:03am

TriOak Foods announced this week that the swine production company has sold its ownership interest in Triumph Foods to Christensen Farms.

Triumph Foods is a pork processing company headquartered in St. Joseph, Missouri, that is owned by its producers. Triumph Foods was formed four years ago by Christensen Farms, TriOak Foods, New Fashion Pork, The Hanor Company, Eichelberger Farms and Allied Producers Cooperative.

"The sale of our shares in Triumph allows TriOak to allocate more resources toward expanding our Identity Preserved Corn Program, along with pursuing milling and grain processing opportunities to service our growing pork production base," said Randy Pflum, CEO of TriOak Foods.

"This transaction is a good fit for both companies, as Christensen Farms has seen a fair amount of live pig growth over the past few years," said Bob Christensen, CEO of Christensen Farms.
