Early calls for the corn, soybean, and wheat markets
CHICAGO, Illinois (Agriculture.com)--The pre-opening prices for the CME Group grain commodities for Friday, August 6, 2010 are sharply higher. The early calls for corn are 2-4 cents lower, soybeans steady and wheat up 10-12 cents.
In overnight electronic trading, the Dec. corn futures contract traded 2 3/4 cents lower at $4.15 1/4 per bushel. The Nov. soybean futures contract traded steady at $10.29 per bushel. The Sep. wheat futures contract traded 13 1/4 cents higher at $7.99. For Dec. soymeal futures, the contract traded $0.40 per short ton lower at $295.00, and Dec. soyoil up 37 points at $42.39.
The outside markets are not supportive for Thursday's grain trade. The real factor driving the mixed early calls is the mixed overnight markets.
